This large-scale Christmas selection was written with two goals in mind: firstly, to be sufficiently substantial and ambitious to stand alongside such standards as Leroy Anderson's 'A Christmas Festival', and secondly, to employ a number of melodies which do not appear often in other Christmas selections.

Also, the decision was made to build the sound around the French Horn section.

For these reasons, we believe every Concert Band looking for new Christmas repertoire should be looking at this work.  With its energy, grandeur and sweeping harmonies, it has proved popular on both sides of the Atlantic.

The tunes featured are: Good Christian Men Rejoice; O, Du Fröhliche; Away In A Manger; Personent Hodie (On This Day); Infant Holy; Angels From The Realms Of Glory; On Christmas Night All Christians Sing.
